Recipe Q&A

Can I make this dish vegetarian?

Yes, substitute regular bacon with vegetarian bacon or omit it entirely while keeping the creamy sauce and other ingredients intact.

What type of cheese works best?

Grated Parmesan provides a rich, nutty flavor, but Pecorino Romano can be used for a sharper taste.

How do I prevent the sauce from scrambling the eggs?

Remove the skillet from heat before adding the egg and cheese mixture, then toss quickly and use reserved noodle water to adjust the sauce consistency.

Can I use fresh pasta instead of instant ramen noodles?

Yes, fresh pasta may be used, but adjust cooking time accordingly to maintain the creamy texture of the sauce.

What sides pair well with this dish?

A crisp white wine like Pinot Grigio or a light green salad complements the creamy and savory flavors perfectly.

01 4 strips bacon or vegetarian bacon, chopped (optional)
02 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
03 Extra grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Steps

Step 01

Cook Noodles: Bring a medium pot of water to a boil. Add ramen noodles and cook according to package instructions, approximately 3 minutes. Drain noodles, reserving ¼ cup of cooking water, then set aside.
