# Top Tips:

01 -
  • The beauty of customization means youll never suffer through picking out the ingredients you dislike as I did with commercial mixes for years.
  • The ratio of sweet to salty creates this addictive quality that somehow makes hiking uphill feel less daunting when you know whats waiting in your backpack.
02 -
  • Adding chocolate chips after the mix has completely cooled prevents them from developing that weird white coating that happens when chocolate melts and resolidifies.
  • The ratio matters tremendously – aim for roughly 50% nuts and seeds, 30% dried fruit, and 20% chocolate or other treats for the most satisfying balance.
03 -
  • Toast your nuts and seeds lightly before mixing for a dramatically improved flavor profile – just 8 minutes at 325°F transforms the entire character of your blend.
  • Keep chocolate chips in the freezer before adding them to your mix on hot days, giving you a longer window to work before they start melting and creating chocolate-coated everything.
